Taken on my stroll from the metro to Rayburn |
I am very excited to announce that I am currently interning on Capitol Hill (again!) in the House Committee on Oversight and Reform. Last Fall, I had the opportunity to intern with the late Congressman Elijah E. Cummings in his Washington, D.C. office. Unfortunately, due to his passing, I was not able to meet him and the office ceased doing legislative work. During the remainder of my internship, I assisted the Oversight Committee with whatever tasks they had.

Helping them out back then really paid off because now I intern in their office (and it's paid!). Even though the internship is remote, I still think that it is such a cool experience! I actually had the opportunity to go in person one time while the House was still in session. It was really fun to be able to assist with the hearing that was going on that day and to get my ID badge.

My current duties are archiving old hearing folders, editing transcripts from hearings, helping out with correspondence, putting together binders for upcoming hearings, and helping run the hearings through WebEx. I hope that one day this internship will be in person so I can meet everyone (including some Congress members!)
